The Trinamool Congress has approached the Calcutta High Court regarding the post-poll violence following the West Bengal Assembly election results. Alleging that over 2,000 Trinamool workers and supporters were injured in the violence, the party demanded immediate court intervention to curb the unrest.

Sirsanya Banerjee, son of Trinamool MP and lawyer Kalyan Banerjee, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) emphasizing the need for an investigation into the attacks on Trinamool workers and the restoration of peace. The High Court bench, led by Chief Justice Sujoy Paul, is set to hear the case next Thursday.

Amid reports of violence, including the vandalization of Lenin statues and a Trinamool office, a separate public interest litigation has been filed highlighting the sporadic incidents of unrest post the change in government. Lawyer Ritankar Das has also sought urgent court intervention in response to these incidents.
