Urvil Patel showcased a stunning performance, scoring 65 runs, including a joint fastest fifty in IPL history in just 13 balls, as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a five-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2026 match at MA Chidambaram Stadium. This victory marked CSK’s third consecutive win in the tournament, propelling them to the fifth spot in the points table.
Lucknow Super Giants, batting first, posted 203/8 with Josh Inglis scoring 85 runs. CSK’s bowlers, led by Jamie Overton’s 3-36, managed to restrict LSG after a strong start.
In response, CSK’s chase was boosted by Urvil Patel’s explosive innings, where he equaled the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history, finishing with 65 runs off 23 balls at a strike-rate of 282.61. His aggressive batting, which included eight sixes and two fours, set the tone for CSK’s successful chase.
By the end of Urvil’s innings, CSK seemed on track for victory, but LSG fought back, creating some tense moments. However, Prashant Veer and Shivam Dube’s composed partnership ensured CSK’s win with four balls to spare, despite some fielding lapses by LSG.
