Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, accusing the Congress of supporting the BJP historically. He refuted claims of a CPI(M)-BJP connection in Kerala. Vijayan blamed the Congress for aiding the BJP’s growth in various states by weakening anti-BJP alliances.
Vijayan highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s lack of understanding of ground realities and criticized his political strategies benefiting the BJP. He pointed out instances where the Congress’s actions inadvertently favored the BJP, such as in Delhi and Haryana. The Chief Minister dismissed allegations of favoritism towards PM Modi and denied any secret alliance between CPI(M) and BJP in Kerala.
Rahul Gandhi, in a virtual address, had accused Vijayan of being soft on PM Modi and hinted at a CPI(M)-BJP collaboration in Kerala. Vijayan rejected these claims as politically motivated and emphasized the escalating verbal clash between Congress and the Left ahead of the Assembly elections.
