The Ministry of Ayush has partnered with the Digital India BHASHINI Division to facilitate the swift transcription and translation of Ayush knowledge systems into various Indian languages using advanced AI language technology. This collaboration, known as “BHASHINI Rajyam – A BHASHINI Sahayogi Program,” aims to incorporate the BHASHINI Platform, India’s National Language Digital Public Infrastructure, into the Ministry of Ayush’s digital platforms and services. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, emphasized the significance of making Ayush knowledge accessible in all Indian languages for inclusive healthcare delivery and public engagement.
The Ministry of Ayush, through its Ayush Grid initiative, is engaged in activities spanning healthcare, capacity building, research, and drug administration. Various portals, applications, and AI solutions developed under Ayush Grid are set to be accessible in all 22 scheduled languages recognized under the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution to enhance outreach and accessibility. This collaboration will integrate Digital India BHASHINI’s technologies into Ayush digital solutions, including portals, applications, and AI tools, to enhance multilingual accessibility and broaden digital outreach nationwide.
Efforts will be concentrated on creating domain-specific multilingual terminology systems, enhancing Ayush language datasets, and constructing contextual AI models for healthcare and wellness communication related to Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy. The memorandum of understanding was officially signed by Dr. Subodh Kumar, Director of the Ministry of Ayush, and Amitabh Nag, CEO of the Digital India BHASHINI Division.
